so it looks like my cover design is going through.
!!!!!
it didn't feel real until i was asked to provide a high-res version of just the front, for web use [the site, powell's, goodreads, etc]. that's my design & it's going to be all over the interwebs.
i mean, i still have to work in some elements from the publisher & hand-redo a little bit of type. yes, all of the type on the cover was handworked. but there's something soothing about the process, about working with your hands, you know? especially with type.
what does it look like? well i don't know that i should give it all away so soon. how about i just give you a process peek?

i have some slightly unconventional layer naming practices, that's for sure.
more later, i promise. i have some texture spreads for the color book almost ready to hit the blog. feeling good about things if also super stressed & so exhausted i have to take three-hour naps after coming home every day. them's the breaks, i guess.
ps: sasha just wrote up a big ol' post about the book in question, in case you're interested in hearing the back story there. can i say i am proud of him? does that sound weird? because i am so proud & glad & thrilled. so there.
